Mon, Jul 14Dublin Portmarnock GC
Today we play the world renowned Portmarnock GC, the links is consistently ranked amongst the top golf courses in the world. With a rich history closely aligned to the progression of golf in Ireland, Portmarnock has hosted many major professional and amateur events including multiple Irish Open Championships, the Walker Cup, the Irish Amateur Close Championship, and the British Amateur Championship. From Sam Snead to Seve Ballesteros, some of golf's best-known names have tested their skills here on the north Dublin peninsula. Considered by many as one of the fairest links courses in the world, it delivers an incredible challenge and true test of golf. We invite you to experience links golf at its purest. Portmarnock Golf Club was ranked as the best golf course in Ireland, Golf Digest Magazine, 2004/15 and Tom Watson (Open Champion on 5 occasions) summed up the links during his visits by saying "There are no tricks or nasty surprises, only an honest, albeit searching test of shot making skills."
A Day in Dublin! A good place to begin is The National Museum of Ireland on Kildare Street for a well-designed archaeological collection featuring Bronze Age gold jewelry and Viking swords. The stars of the show are the “bog people” — preserved corpses of men who were killed (presumably sacrificed) and tossed into peat bogs during the Iron Age. The preservative qualities are remarkable. Dublin is home to St Patrick’s Cathedral of course but much of Ireland’s history can be read in Christ Church Cathedral, which dates to circa 1030. Dublin’s booming culinary scene is found along Exchequer Street where The Green Hen has won many admirers with its combination of French atmosphere and Franco-Irish cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients. Try the pan-fried duck breast. Finally, while craft beer is certainly the popular new thing, a pint of “the black stuff” is still required drinking on any trip to Dublin. The Guinness Storehouse Museum at the St. James’s Gate brewery explains how the stout is made and how to pull a proper pint at the correct 45-degree angle and waiting 119.5 seconds before topping it off.

Tues, Jul 15Dublin The Island
Today we enjoy The Island Golf Club, founded in 1890, is a traditional private Members’ golf club with a proud history of upholding the best traditions of amateur golf. Overlooked by the North County Dublin village of Malahide, the links is located in some of the most stunning dunes on the east coast of Ireland. It is also one of the oldest golf courses in Ireland and was ranked 9th in Irish Golfer’s Top 100 Courses in 2021. It enjoys a growing international reputation and currently hosts Regional Qualifying for The Open Championship and has hosted Strokeplay qualifying for the British Amateur Championship in 2019. The Island Golf Club also hosted The Irish Amateur Open in 2023.
Newgrange is Neolithic passage grave in the valley of the River Boyne, County Meath, Ireland. Built by Stone Age farmers about 3200 BCE, it is regarded as the finest grave of its kind in Europe.Newgrange consists of a huge circular mound of stones, some 279 feet (85 m) in diameter and 43 feet (13 m) high, which was later, possibly in the Bronze Age , surrounded by a ring of 35 or more standing stones, of which 12 are still in place. Complicated spirals, zigzags, and other patterns are cut into the stones. Their significance is a mystery, but one theory is that they were connected with the recording of astronomical events, such as the apparent movement of the Sun and the phases of the Moon, in a society that depended on agriculture and needed an efficient calendar.
From New Grange we would then move back to Dublin City for some free time to explore Irelands stunning capital city.
Evening - Visit to the Gaiety Theatre Dublin for the Riverdance Show.

Fri, Jul 18Belfast Royal Belfast
Today play at Royal Belfast, the oldest golf club in Ireland. When the Club was founded on 9 November 1881 it marked the birth of the game of golf in Ireland and in 1891 the Club became one of only nine founder member clubs of the Golfing Union of Ireland. As one of the country's premier 18-hole private members' clubs, visitors are assured of a very warm welcome, a wonderful golfing experience on the Harry Colt designed course and first-class service in the splendid Victorian clubhouse.
St Georges Market & The Titanic Museum -There has been a Friday market on the St George's site since 1604. The present award-winning St George's Market, built between 1890 and 1896, is one of Belfast's oldest attractions. As well as being home to some of the finest fresh produce, with customers travelling near and far to sample the delights of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday markets, it has become one of the city's most popular places to visit, since its £4.5m refurbishment in 1997, this charming Victorian building offers one of the most vibrant and colorful destinations that Belfast has to offer.
Titanic Musuem Belfast, named the World's Leading Tourist Attraction at the prestigious World Travel Awards in 2016, is located beside the Titanic Slipways, the Harland and Wolff Drawing Offices and Hamilton Graving Dock, the very place where Titanic was designed, built and launched in 1911. Titanic Belfast tells the story of the Titanic, from her conception in Belfast in the early 1900s, through her construction and launch, to its maiden voyage and subsequent place in history. The self-guided Titanic Experience extends over nine interpretive and interactive galleries, which explore the sights, sounds, smells and stories of RMS Titanic, as well as the city and people who made her.
This evening our group will dine at Stock, overlooking Belfast's historic St Georges Market, known for creating memorable, quality dishes using only the finest of Irish ingredients.

Sat, Jul 19Belfast THE OPEN
THE OPEN - We will travel by coach to capture the third days play at the The 153rd Open, Royal Portrush Golf Club. (1hr 15mins)
The Dunluce Links is rated as one of the most challenging and spectacular links courses in the world. The Links is named after the nearby ruins of the medieval Dunluce Castle located on the edge of a basalt outcropping overlooking the sea between Portrush and Portballintrae.
The original architect was the famed Harry Colt who produced a breathtaking golf links opening up views of the Atlantic Ocean. In 2015, in for the hosting of The Open in 2019, redesign works commenced under the stewardship of Martin Ebert. For the next 18 months, the shifting sands gave way to the building of five new greens, eight new tee boxes, 10 new bunkers and the creation of two new holes, the 7th and 8th, on land which was once part of the Valley Links.
The result is a magnificent layout providing a fair and scenically stunning challenge for even the best golfers in the world.
You will be free to make your own dinner arrangements in Belfast during the Open weekend.

The service and delivery principle are the same however. We strive to excel and deliver memorable golf and travel experiences as we have done for thousands of clients since 1984.

-
What is the expected dress code?
Depending on the destination, smart golfing attire is expected, bermuda shorts and collared shirts never go out of style. Shorts are welcome and typical on the golf course. Indeed, dress codes as would apply in North America apply on golf courses around the world. In the evening shorts or long pants are acceptable with golf/casual shirt. There is no requirement at any stage for a coat and/or tie.
-
Are gratuities included?
All local taxes plus service charges and gratuities are included for all included items such as guides, baggage handling, golf service personnel etc. The only gratuity which is not included is the gratuity to your caddie. A gratuity of $15-$20 per caddie per round is appropriate.
-
How much free time will we have?
For guests who are golfing and sightseeing, it is a fairly full schedule, with the majority of guests wishing to see and do as much as they can in what may be a once in a lifetime trip.
