Mon, May 18Liverpool Royal Birkdale
Today we play Royal Birkdale* home to the 154th Open in 2026. Since the last Open in 2017 won so dramatically by Jordan Spieth there has been significant changes to the courses with redesign to 3 of the holes and a brand-new par 3 15th. Renowned by many as the finest course on the current Open Rota, this stunning venue on the Northwest coast of England and host to the Open on 10 occasions delivers an incredible start to our tour.
*Please note playing the course with the grandstands in place ahead of the Open is a great experience. There are likely to be small measures in place to protect the course ahead of the championship, usually protection to certain fairway landing areas, where you may be required to play from a small astroturf mat or to remove your ball from the area. These decisions are taken by the R&A, subject to course conditioning at the start of 2026, and are out of our control. Any measures implemented are likely to have little negative impact on the overall enjoyment of playing the course prior to the tournament.
Non-Golfers enjoy a visit to the lively and cosmopolitan city of Liverpool. Visit the Albert Dock, Britain's most popular heritage attraction, which has something for everyone, interesting shops, and gift carts, together with top class attractions such as the Beatles Story, Merseyside Maritime Museum, and the Tate Gallery. The city also boasts some amazing architecture from the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral to the Liver Building and Liverpool Cathedral. The World Museum also has thousands of exhibits with one of the finest collections of ancient Egyptian artefacts.

Royal Liverpool is among the toughest and most demanding of the great seaside championship links of Britain. Hoylake, as it is more commonly known, lies at the very heart of the history and development of golf in Britain. It also features the longest Par 5 on the Open Rota (18th) at 616 yards.
Non-Golfers enjoy a visit to the ancient city of Chester, one of the finest heritage cities in the world, with the most complete city walls and largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain as well as thousand-year-old cathedral. Explore the exciting history of Chester walking through the unique half-timbered galleried streets and enjoy the splendor of the black and white buildings.

Thurs, May 21Ayrshire Royal Troon - Old Course
Today play at Royal Troon – Old Course. Consistently praised for its testing but fair set up. Featuring for the shortest hole in Open Championship, the 8th “The Postage Stamp” Royal Troon is classic “out and in” links layout., The inward nine is considered the most difficult side in the Open rota. The “Iceman “Henrik Stenson out-dueled Phil Mickelson in an epic battle at the 145th Open Championship in 2016 which was viewed by many as the finest head to head battle on a finals day play since the Dual in the Sun in 1977 at Turnberry featuring Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson. Host to 152nd Open in 2024 we’re sure a new champion will etch more rich memories into the fine history of this special course.
Non-golfers will enjoy a visit to Culzean Castle & Country Park. Converted by Robert Adam to include a ‘Roman’ viaduct and Ruined Arch to add drama to this Italianate castle in its spectacular cliff top setting. It offers a fine collection of paintings and furniture. The Circular Saloon has a superb panoramic view over the Firth of Clyde and the beautiful Oval Staircase is Robert Adam’s final masterpiece of interior design. In 1945 the top floor was given to General Eisenhower as a token of Scotland’s recognition of his role during World War II.
Following lunch an optional visit to the world-renowned Whisky Specialists AD. Rattrays is available.

Fri, May 22Ayrshire Trump Turnberry – Ailsa Course
Today play at Trump Turnberry – Ailsa Course. The course underwent a significant renovation and opened as a new layout in June 2016. The course now makes the most of the coastal scenery passing the famous landmark lighthouse at the turn, which is now a stunning halfway house. With Arran and Ailsa Craig as a stunning backdrop, it is truly one of the finest golfing destinations in the world. This is a demanding links course, and an ever-present wind will make for a tough examination of your golfing skills. In 2009 the Ailsa Course hosted the 138th Open when golfing legend Tom Watson lost out to Stewart Cink in a playoff for the Claret Jug.
Non-Golfers enjoy a visit to Dumfries House, one of Britain’s most beautiful stately homes and best kept heritage secrets. Saved by the intervention of HRH the Prince of Wales in 2007, Dumfries House combines the architecture of Robert Adam with the furniture of Thomas Chippendale and leading 18th century Scottish cabinet makers. On the return journey we will take in the scenic beauty of the Heads of Ayr and the ruins of 13th century Dunure Castle built for John de Kennedy.

Sat, May 23St Andrews
Departing Turnberry this morning after breakfast we make our way to St Andrews, known worldwide as The Home of Golf, also boasts Scotland's oldest university. The Royal and Ancient Golf Club first met here in the spiritual home of golf in 1754, though golf was first played here as early as the 15th century.
St Andrews University, founded in 1410, dominates the center of town. The elegant, ivy-clad buildings and delightful quadrangles and gardens have seen a procession of famous graduates such as Prince William. One of the top universities in Britain, St Andrews is often compared to Oxford and Cambridge for its defining presence and the collegiate feel it gives to the town. The Medieval center of St Andrews consists of a series of narrow alleys and cobbled streets packed with shops, restaurants, and cafés.
On arrival in St.Andrews, we enjoy lunch before check in. This afternoon an optional walking and orientation tour will be available to all guests.

Sun, May 24St Andrews Carnoustie
Today we play Carnoustie. The club has been in The Open Rota since 1931, hosting the event 8 times, most recently the 146th in 2018 won by Francesco Molinari. It is regarded as the most difficult course the game's greats face in golf's oldest championship hence the nickname “Carnastie!”. While the links is relatively flat it is exposed to the elements. A combination of length and accuracy are required as golfers face narrow corridors from the tee. Approach shots demand precision to the greens heavily guarded by steep bunkers and burns. Arguably the toughest finishing holes in championship golf, errant shots are severely penalized as Jean Van de Velde found to his cost in 1999.
Non-Golfers will enjoy a visit to Glamis Castle, childhood home of Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, and birthplace of Princess Margaret. The family home of the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne, it has been a Royal residence since 1372 and is the legendary setting of Shakespeare's play Macbeth.

Mon, May 25St Andrews St Andrews - Old Course
Today it’s our absolute privilege to walk in the footsteps of giants and play the most famous golf course in the World – The Home of Golf, Old Course, St Andrews. Most recently the host of the 150th Open in 2022, In modern times the “Old Lady” has become less of a challenge to the world’s best but if you don’t listen to your caddie closely some of the most famous bunkers in the world will be ready to capture errant tee and approach shots! Can you repeat Tiger Woods heroics from 2000 when he avoided a bunker? He did it for all 4 days whilst romping to 8 shot victory with a then record score of 19 under par! We all dream about making that famous walk over the Swilken Bridge (stopping for the obligatory photo) across Granny Clarks Wynd and up onto the 18th green, what a way to finish our tour!
The seaside villages of Fife are some of the prettiest in Scotland. Beautiful beaches, historic harbors and ruined castles make for a charming coastal kingdom. and today we will embark on a tour of some of them.
We start our day in the ancient village of Pittenweem, which remains the busiest of the East Neuk fishing ports. Each morning the fish market bustles in the sheds of the harbour with a handful of local inns offering refreshment once the catch of the day has been sold.
Moving onto Anstruther, considered the capital of the East Neuk of Fife, a busy seaside settlement divided in two by the Dreel Burn, itself a source of fish for centuries.
The village of Crail lies 10 miles along the coastline from Anstruther. A walk along the coastal path passes the Caves of Caiplie. Cut by the sea, the series of caves was once a site of early Christian worship for monks and pilgrims. Crail is the furthest north of the East Neuk villages and was a major port from the 13th and 14th Centuries.
This evening attend our Farewell Party & Dinner in the iconic Old Course Hotel, St Andrews.

What is the expected dress code?
Depending on the destination, smart golfing attire is expected, bermuda shorts and collared shirts never go out of style. Shorts are welcome and typical on the golf course. There is no requirement at any stage for a coat and/or tie.
-

All local taxes plus service charges and gratuities are included for all included items such as guides, baggage handling, golf service personnel etc. The only gratuity which is not included is the gratuity to your caddie.
