Day 3 Fancourt - The Montagu
Sightseeing Suggestion: The Garden Route and Little Karoo's natural assets will have you question ever wanting to leave this idyllic spot! The Garden Route and Little Karoo spans from Witsands whale birthing haven in the West to Plettenberg Bays beach, polo and party-going pleasures in the East. Then there’s the arid geological basin along the interior, wedged between the fynbos-rich Heidelberg in the west and Uniondales eastern sheep farming and rock art treasures. It's all about an abundance of blue skies, white sand beaches, rolling oceans, mountain scenery, indigenous fynbos, ostrich antics and local hospitality. A place where you can travel along routes where you are often alone on the open road or make for the malls and beaches Golden vineyards, sun-drenched orchards, pin-drop-silent forests, sweeping lakes and birds eye view passes add to the mix.
Today play Fancourt - The Montagu . Designed by Gary Player and remodeled in 2004 by David McKlay-Kidd (Bandon Dunes), the Montagu is South Africa's best parkland golf course. With the highest levels of conditioning and true championship layout, The Montagu at Fancourt sets the standards by which all other courses in South Africa are measured.

Day 4

Situated in a limestone ridge parallel to the Swartberg Mountains, you will find the finest dripstone caverns in Africa, with vast halls and towering formations. Lost in absolute darkness, a deep stillness, a constant temperature and high humidity, it is a world with its own unique scenery of calcite masterpieces formed by gently dripping water. The tour includes a few natural chambers and takes one (standard) or one-and-a-half hours (adventure) to explore.

Day 5 Fancourt - The Links
Sightseeing Suggestion: Plettenberg Bay is a very popular holiday resort about 32km (half hour drive) from Knysna. Take a very pleasant day trip to Plett stopping off to take a relaxing forest walk through the Garden of Eden The walk is also suitable for people in wheelchairs. A few kilometres further on is the turnoff to Harkerville and Kranshoek which has one of the most spectacular views of the rugged coastline. Plett, as it is affectionately called, has sparkling white beaches and some of the best swimming and surfing in the Garden Route There are two lagoons with lots of hermit crabs and inquisitive seagulls. The lovely long walks along the edge of the azure sea are often rewarded with whale and dolphin sightings. Plett has lots of places to eat and interesting shops,
Today play Fancourt - The Links . Ranked #1 in South Africa.Created from a previously flat piece of land, over 700 000 cubic metres of earth was moved in transforming it into a typical Links style. The course presents undulating windswept terrain and dune-style landscape and is the only such course in South Africa. Every hole has received detailed attention to ensure that the overall balance in terms of length, position of hazards and shot values are in harmony. As a result, The Links presents a stern test in all weather conditions. The Links experience includes a mandatory caddie and the option to walk or take a cart.

Day 6 Pinnacle Point
Today play Pinnacle Point . Magnificently perched atop staggering cliffs, this windswept course three hours east of Cape Town and a half hour south of George marks a major addition to South Africa’s already world-class golf scene. Six of the holes play across deep chasms to greens that seem to float in the Indian Ocean. The yawning ravines and distant horizons can make 150-yard shots look like twice that length. On the par-four eighth, tee and green sit on opposing bluffs; big hitters can attempt an all-or-nothing carry with the hope of having an easy wedge in, or play it safe by bailing out left and facing a much longer approach. Throughout the layout, the architects wisely designed large, fairly flat greens that yield plenty of sensible pin placements and give golfers who have run a gauntlet just to get to the green a bit of a break. Day 10 Pearl Valley
Sightseeing Suggestion: Cape Town is considered as the Mother City of South Africa. Since 1652 it has been ruled by the Dutch (twice) the French and the English. Add to that the Eastern and African cultures introduced by slaves and migrants and you have one of the most diverse local populations that you could wish to find. Whilst the people are friendly and interesting, the scenery is spectacular. With Table Mountain framing the city and white beaches surrounding it, Cape Town has long been a summer vacation playground for South Africans and International folk looking for something unique. Culturally Cape Town is at its most active during the months from June to September when the silly season is over and people get down to doing what they do best, relaxing and enjoying the Cape Town lifestyle.
Play today at Pearl Valley . Set in the famous Franschhoek Wine region, this new Jack Nicklaus Signature Course is a treat to play. Pearl Valley is probably in the top conditioned course in South Africa. As with many Nicklaus courses, water on the right with plenty of sand, will keep the golfers mind off the wide landing areas provided. Also a new development, the course and it's geographical location allow for guests to enjoy a day outing in the Winelands with high quality golf to compliment the food and wine. A second course, 'Bears Best' will be built shortly on the same property. (cart fee included)

Frequently Asked Questions
To help you decide, we've compiled answers to common questions about our Custom Tours. Curious about itineraries, accommodations, or logistics? Our FAQs cover it all. For personalized advice, our Golf Travel Experts are ready to assist.
-
How far in advance should I book a trip to ensure best availability?
Our best advice is to decide on your preferred trip and confirm the dates as soon as possible, for everything is a component of availability. If you are traveling during high season, the golf courses can have significant demand and sooner we are able to submit your groups request for tee times and similarly to the hotels, the likelihood of securing your exact, preferred schedule is enhanced.
-
What is the optimum size of a group?
Every group has different dynamics but we believe that groups of 8 travelers are more preferred, for two reasons; (1) a group of 8 people remains small enough that everyone can interact with each other easily and (2) in terms of access to golf tee times and hotel arrangements we have found this size of group to be the easiest to accommodate. Of course, we are delighted to assist with groups of 2 to 150 travelers.
-
When is the best time to travel?
It varies by destination. High season (for golf) is as follows;
-
Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales, France & Italy
April – October.
During the summer season you will enjoy the best possible chance of good weather. However Britain does experience changeable, unpredictable weather year round and it is therefore best to anticipate.
-
New Zealand & Australia
September – April
Peak season is December - February/March
-
Spain, Portugal & South Africa
January - December
South Africa is attractive all year round. Many prefer to visit from October - March. The summer months in the south of Spain and Portugal can be very hot and the condition of the courses deteriorates. Therefore the peak seasons in Spain and Portugal would be April – June & September – November.
-
Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales, France & Italy
-
What forms of payment do you accept?
Checks, MasterCard, VISA or wire transfer/ACH
-
Do I need travel insurance?
We strongly suggest and offer an attractive travel protection program. This information is described on the reservations forms.
-
When will I receive final travel information?
We ordinarily distribute final travel information 21 days in advance of departure. This includes all hotel contact details for your trip along with other pertinent information.
-
