Return to the city via the old Cape Malay Quarter, for a walk through the Company Gardens, the fresh produce gardens for ships and locals from the mid 17th Century and today, home to the SA Museum, Cultural History Museum, Houses of Parliament, National Gallery and St George’s Cathedral. Stroll through the city to Greenmarket Square to browse African mementos at its bustling market stalls.

Play today at Steenberg . An 18 hole championship course designed by Peter Matkovich; a backdrop of vineyards, gardens, forests and mountains provides the setting for this beautiful exclusive course. The course is always in excellent condition with bent grass greens and lush fairways. Day 4 Royal Cape
Sightseeing Inclusion: Cape Peninsula Tour.
Depart the city along the spectacular Atlantic Seaboard, en route to the fishing village of Hout Bay to explore the harbour, visiting its fish markets and shops. Continue over the 600m heights of Chapman’s Peak Drive, one of the world’s most breath-taking passes and past the Cape’s longest beach, with a chance to spot Southern Right Whales just offshore from June to November.
Enter the Cape of Good Hope National Park for a walk (or optional funicular ride) up to the Cape Point Lighthouse, to take in magical ocean vistas at this, the south westernmost point of Africa. Head along the False Bay coast to Boulders Beach near Simonstown to see a colony of African Penguins and then continue past the seaside resorts of False Bay, towards the city. The last stop of the day is Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, for a walk through one of the largest collections of indigenous plants in the world.
Tour Highlights include: Hout Bay Harbour * Chapman’s Peak Drive * Cape of Good Hope National Park and Cape Point * Visit to Penguins at Boulders Beach * Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens * A lunch stop will be made en route and is included in the cost.Play today at Royal Cape , the oldest golf club in Africa (1895) which has hosted the South African Open no less than ten times and the SA Amateur Championships eight times. The most recent SA Open held here was in 1996 and was won by Ernie Els. Essentially it is a very flat parkland course, it is always well maintained and a pleasure to play, with lovely views of the surrounding mountains. But don't be deceived by its apparent easiness. The fairways are narrow, demanding extreme accuracy off the tee, wayward shots can be heavily penalized amongst the trees and the greens are well bunkered, especially in the prominent South-Westerly wind, locally referred to as the Cape Doctor.

Frequently Asked Questions
To help you decide, we've compiled answers to common questions about our Custom Tours. Curious about itineraries, accommodations, or logistics? Our FAQs cover it all. For personalized advice, our Golf Travel Experts are ready to assist.
-
How far in advance should I book a trip to ensure best availability?
Our best advice is to decide on your preferred trip and confirm the dates as soon as possible, for everything is a component of availability. If you are traveling during high season, the golf courses can have significant demand and sooner we are able to submit your groups request for tee times and similarly to the hotels, the likelihood of securing your exact, preferred schedule is enhanced.
-
What is the optimum size of a group?
Every group has different dynamics but we believe that groups of 8 travelers are more preferred, for two reasons; (1) a group of 8 people remains small enough that everyone can interact with each other easily and (2) in terms of access to golf tee times and hotel arrangements we have found this size of group to be the easiest to accommodate. Of course, we are delighted to assist with groups of 2 to 150 travelers.
-
When is the best time to travel?
It varies by destination. High season (for golf) is as follows;
-
Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales, France & Italy
April – October.
During the summer season you will enjoy the best possible chance of good weather. However Britain does experience changeable, unpredictable weather year round and it is therefore best to anticipate.
-
New Zealand & Australia
September – April
Peak season is December - February/March
-
Spain, Portugal & South Africa
January - December
South Africa is attractive all year round. Many prefer to visit from October - March. The summer months in the south of Spain and Portugal can be very hot and the condition of the courses deteriorates. Therefore the peak seasons in Spain and Portugal would be April – June & September – November.
-
Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales, France & Italy
-
What forms of payment do you accept?
Checks, MasterCard, VISA or wire transfer/ACH
-
Do I need travel insurance?
We strongly suggest and offer an attractive travel protection program. This information is described on the reservations forms.
-
When will I receive final travel information?
We ordinarily distribute final travel information 21 days in advance of departure. This includes all hotel contact details for your trip along with other pertinent information.
-
