The Welsh Country House Hotel offers a warm, naturally-lit and cosy atmosphere, with a unique contemporary theme. The elegant Restaurant offers exceptional dining with a delicious, innovative and varied menu, cooked using freshly prepared ingredients. There are eight individually designed bedrooms, some of which have beautiful views of the world-renowned Royal St David’s Links Golf Course. Every bedroom has been refurbished in a traditional style, with bespoke mahogany furniture and sumptuous soft furnishings. All rooms can be either double or twin, and come with full en suite facilities, goose down duvets and Egyptian cotton bedding, LCD TVs, a hairdryer and tea/coffee-making facilities.

Today play Nefyn & District (tbc). Ten of Nefyn's holes run alongside the sea and is considered one of the most beautifully sited courses in Britain. <Day 4 ~ Royal St David's Golf Club

Today play Royal St David's (tbc), set in an area of outstanding natural beauty with the rugged mountains of Snowdonia and Harlech Castle. While the course is surprisingly flat, it is proven to be one of the most difficult links in Britain with a strict par of 69. Only twice do successive holes proceed in the same direction. Please note a very limited supply of golf carts are available for hire. Certain restrictions may apply, please advise your Golf Travel Specialist.

Today play Aberdovey (tbc) . At the north of the Dovey Estuary you will find a classic links that hugs the Welsh coastline. This historic course is a favorite of the esteemed Bernard Darwin who famously eulogised as the course ''that may soul loves best in the world'. While the course runs straight out and straight back in the manner of a traditional links there is a great diversity between each nine and the holes themselves. Please note a very limited supply of golf carts are available for hire. Certain restrictions may apply, please advise your Golf Travel Specialist.

Your Itinerary

You will find the Great House Hotel conveniently located between Porthcawl and Bridgend in the small village of Laleston. Originating from around 1550, The Great House is a grade 11* listed building and is believed to have been a gift from Queen Elizabeth 1 to the Earl of Leicester and used as a hunting lodge by him. The 16 bedrooms, each one with a personality of its own, reflect the warmth and friendliness all through the house. They are individually decorated in a soothing, tasteful style. Some are within the main house while others have a courtyard location. Guest facilities include ''The Well'' Health Suite with multi-gym, sauna and Jacuzzi. Leicester's restaurant has twice been awarded County Restaurant of the year, and the food reflects a modern approach to classical cooking.

<Day 6 ~ Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club

Today play a true "Hidden Gem" of Wales, Pyle & Kenfig (tbc). Located beside the more famous Royal Porthcawl in South Wales overlooking the Bristol Channel. This challenging course offers a combination of true links land and inland high ground. The back nine especially receives much acclaim. Much of the trouble is to be found off the tee. Please note a very limited supply of golf carts are available for hire. Certain restrictions may apply, please advise your Golf Travel Specialist.

<Day 7 ~ Royal Porthcawl Golf Club

Golf today on Royal Porthcawl (tbc). A unique mixture of classic links and heathland holes, played on lush springy turf. Porthcawl has panoramic views over the Bristol Channel from every hole. Although Porthcawl has never held the Open it has held numerous top Amateur events including the Walker Cup, which featured Tiger Woods in the US team. It is Wales only venue in the top 100 courses in the world.

Ten of Nefyn's holes run alongside the sea and is considered one of the most beautiful courses in the British Isles, offering panoramic views of the sea. Several holes parallel the rugged, rocky coastline which sits high on a cliff above the water. The pretty seaside hamlet of Porthdinallaen comes in view at the 12th hole, which also features the Ty Coch Pub for those whose golf swing is in need of some proper lubrication.

Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty with the rugged mountains of Snowdonia and Harlech Castle. While the course is surprisingly flat, it is proven to be one of the most difficult links in Britain with a strict par of 69. Only twice do successive holes proceed in the same direction. The finish here is memorable, with a five-hole loop that twists and turns through the loop. The condition of the course is generally considered as terrific.

While the course runs straight out and straight back in the manner of a traditional links there is a great diversity between each nine and the holes themselves. Located beside the more famous Royal Porthcawl in South Wales overlooking the Bristol Channel. This challenging course offers a combination of true links land and inland high ground. The back nine especially receives much acclaim. Much of the trouble is to be found off the tee. Affectionately known as 'P & K' with its lofty sand dunes hugging the South Wales coast, the course offers glorious views on a undulating course with natural hazards of hillocks, valleys and towering dunes.

A unique mixture of classic links and heathland holes, played on lush springy turf. Royal Porthcawl has panoramic views over the Bristol Channel from every hole. Although Porthcawl has never held the Open Championship it has held numerous top Amateur events including the Walker Cup, which featured Tiger Woods in the US team, and entertained the world’s best 50 & over golfers during the 2014 and 2017 Open Championships. The American pro Fred Couples described it as spectacular.
