Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club
Fortrose & Rosemarkie

On the narrow Chanonry Peninsula less than 30 minutes north of Inverness, Fortrose & Rosemarkie (Fortrose for the town, Rosemarkie for the bay) rests hard against the Moray Firth which parallels the fairway on seven of the first eight holes. Featuring architect James Braid’s characteristic strategic bunkering that borders tight fairways, Fortrose also has fast, deceptive greens to form a challenging and scenic layout over 5,594 yards. The par-3 fifth hole, ‘Icehouse,’ measures only 133 yards from the back tees but can require a pitching wedge or a fairway metal depending on the wind’s direction and velocity.
