Ballybunion - Cashen Course

The Cashen course is every bit as stout as the Old at Ballybunion. In fact, some might even say in harsh conditions, that Cashen poses a test more fierce. The hills are higher. The changes in elevation are more drastic. And tee shots imprecise in either distance or accuracy easily come to rest in the wispy Marram grass that dots the property. The size of the greens is another striking difference between the two golf courses. Cashen’s surfaces are tiny and difficult to putt.

Ballybunion - Old Course

Carved from the earth, amid the dunes beside the ocean, the Old Course at Ballybunion features dramatic changes in elevation. It’s the most famous links in Ireland, in part because American professional Tom Watston, the five-time Open Champion, professed his love for the layout when he hoisted the Claret Jug in 1982. A natural, elemental design it is cut from the same cloth as Pebble Beach or St. Andrews, courses that needed only slight refinement by the hand of men.

Everything exceeded expectation. It was all wonderful and if there were any 'behind the scenes' challenges I was not aware of them which is a good thing. Would I recommend PerryGolf to my friends/colleagues - yes in a heartbeat!
