The Fife Arms Hotel
Located in the historic Scottish village of Braemar, The Fife Arms is a Victorian coaching inn that has been imaginatively restored. Celebrating Scotland’s rich heritage and craftsmanship, the hotel is surrounded by the majestic landscape of Royal Deeside. The Fife Arms showcases the finest seasonal produce for which Scotland is world-famous. From fresh seafood and game to local whiskies and spirits, many of the ingredients used in the kitchens and bars is sourced from local suppliers, gamekeepers and farmers. In the best sporting estate tradition there are boot, drying and gun rooms below stairs; the hotel’s ghillie will arrange the activities to put them into use. Recover in the Albamhor spa with a massage, or stay in all day enjoying a bespoke treatment or two before exploring the library and the hotel shop, stocked with tempting artisanal luxuries. Recover from your efforts with afternoon tea in the drawing room (bespoke tartan tweed walls and fringed sofas with Chinese artist Zhang Engli’s extraordinary painted ceiling). Inspired by some of Braemar’s most noble visitors, the Royal Suites are richly furnished with antiques, artworks and even objects that once belonged to these historic figures. With views over the surrounding landscape, the rooms also feature freestanding copper bath, rain shower, double bed and separate sitting room.
