Morgans
Morgans is the undisputed flagship hotel in Swansea. Swansea’s Victorian Port Authority building has been transformed into a stunning hotel. It was a subtle, discreet process into which a lot of thought and a great deal of money has been invested. From the outside, the fine Grade II listed building appears to have changed very little. Within, Morgans oozes cutting-edge 21st-century style while retaining all the classic features, the mouldings, pillars, staircases, stained glass and wooden floors. And the process goes on, with individually designed rooms in the hotel's nearby Town House. Morgans is unashamedly modern, but it also pays homage to its past, avoiding that frosty minimalism that sometimes accompanies bold new ventures. The bedrooms contain Egyptian cotton sheets and fresh flowers with fabulous bathrooms that are stamped with the hallmark of high quality, sophisticated interior design and attention to detail. Throughout the hotel the style and quality are the same in the classy, contemporary lounge and champagne bars, outdoor decked courtyard and two excellent restaurants. Morgans is a winning mix it's a hotel for today wrapped up in a fine building redolent of yesterday. And it's big on personality and facilities while being small enough to provide that reassuring personal touch.
