Steeped in Settler history, and dating back to the time when a multitude of game roamed wild and free, the 20 000 hectare, malaria-free reserve boasts five eco-systems, enabling the support of many forms of plant, animal and bird life. Shamwari has received numerous international awards, including the World's Leading Conservation Company and Game Reserve for five consecutive years. Much of this has to do with their leading work with the Born Free Foundation. Activities from the lodge include morning and evening game drives or walking safaris, accompanied by your personal ranger. Shamwari Game Reserve prides itself on the knowledge and professionalism of their rangers. Rates include all meals, soft drinks and local alcoholic beverages. Premium drinks will be billed.
