Gleneagles - King's Course

The King's Course at Gleneagles was the inspiration of James Braid, five-time winner of The Open. It opened in 1919, representing the finest 'classical' golf course design. In 1921 the course hosted the inaugural, albeit informal Ryder Cup between Great Britain and the United States.  It is certainly one of the most beautiful places in the world to play golf with.  sweeping views of the rock-faced mountains to the north and the green hills to the south, plus the peaks of the Trossachs and Ben Vorlich on the western horizon. The King’s Course has hosted an impressive list of important events ranging from the 100th Scottish PGA Championship to the Curtis Cup and Scottish Open.

Gleneagles - PGA Centenary Course

This highly acclaimed Jack Nicklaus design is a fine test of championship golf. It is a modern layout featuring many strategic bunkers and vast putting surfaces with severe undulations from front-to-back and side-to-side. The key here is to avoid coming up short.  The course can stretch to nearly 7,300 yards from the tips and affords wonderful views of the Grampian Mountains and the Perthshire countryside. PGA Centenary was the host site for the 2014 Ryder Cup, as it returned to Scotland for the first time in 41 years.  It hosted the Solheim Cup in 2019.

Gleneagles - Queen's Course

The course threads through high ridges on the north and west sides of the estate, the Queen's offers lovely woodland settings, lochans and ditches as water hazards, as well as many moorland characteristics. Short but challenging, it’s a course that requires brains if not brawn in a serene setting of rolling countryside. The small greens require accurate approach shots. The first hole “The Trystin’ Tree,” may be a lover’s lane but can be a golfer’s nightmare with its narrow fairway and tiny putting surface.
