Built in 1897 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, this is perhaps the most underrated of the St Andrews courses. The emphasis is on hitting the narrow fairways, and unlike other St Andrews courses the Jubilee course offers a change in elevation on a number of holes by taking advantage of a few large sand dunes. Initially intended to serve ladies and beginners, the renowned architect Donald Steel elevated the course to championship caliber in 1988.
