Tain Golf Club

Tain

Tain Golf Club is found on the opposite bank of the Dornoch Firth from its famous neighbor Royal Dornoch (and less than 10 minutes from Glenmorangie Distillery). It is yet another Old Tom Morris masterpiece with eleven of his green sites still in use.  Founded in 1890, this 6,404 layout is a combination of links and heathland style holes well defended by heather and gorse.  Its unusual here, aside from the sea, how water dedicates play.  The Aldie Burn is to be avoided twice on the 2nd, “River”, along with both par threes 16 and 17.
