On arrival at the Dublin Airport you will be met by PerryGolf personnel who will assist you with your luggage and transfer to your transportation.
Your preferred arrival & departure airport options are dependent on your personal preferences. The closest airport to your first hotel/golf course is listed first. Some airports have direct transatlantic flights from US cities while others only offer service with connections through European hub cities. Our air department is available to talk through your air travel options.Sightseeing Suggestion: Enjoy the delights of the Antrim Coastline. Outside of Portrush lies Dunluce Castle. The jagged silhouette of the ruins of Dunluce Castle rises from the cliff edge above the sea. Continue to the lunar landscape of the Giant's Causeway. Legend has it that the causeway is the work of the giant Finn McCool, the Ulster warrior and commander of the king of Ireland's armies. The causeway proper is the most spectacular series of geological features to be found along the North Antrim Coast consisting of 40,000 columns rising from the sea.

Wed, Sep 23 Portstewart - Strand Course
Approximate travel time to your golf course today 15 minutes
Today play Portstewart - Strand Course 2:30pm. Possibly, indeed probably, The Strand Course at Portstewart has always been inspired by her renowned neighbors Royal County Down and Royal Portrush to join the ranks of Northern Ireland’s leading layouts. The original course opened in 1908, was largely reinvented by the great Willie Park in the early 1920’s, then updated again in the 1980s. Next after a healthy investment to acquire a range of massive, untouched sand dunes called “Thistly Hollow”, seven outstanding new holes were constructed that make for an opening nine considered one of the best in links golf. Please note a very limited supply of golf carts are available for hire. Certain restrictions may apply, please advise your Golf Travel Specialist.

Sightseeing Suggestion: Enjoy a visit to Bushmills Distillery, the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world, established in 1608. Following your guided tour take a walk out to the Carrick a rede Rope Bridge. During the walk, along the Larrybane Cliffs, sea birds wheel and scream over the waves below. The Rope Bridge bounces and sways as one ventures gingerly along the planks above the rock strewn water 60ft below.

Thu, Sep 24 Royal Portrush - Dunluce
Golf on Royal Portrush - Dunluce Links 9:40am. Northern Ireland’s Royal Portrush (Est 1888) is routinely ranked among the World Top 15 and never less than fifth among the great clubs of the UK and Ireland. It is the only club outside of Great Britain to host The Open which it has done twice; in 1951 and 2019. Harry Colt is largely responsible for the current layout which opened in 1932. He chose the high ground on magnificent dunes land the club had acquired for two courses that was full of deep valleys, long ridges and large plateaus. His achievement here is how the holes follow the sand formations and the greens which are some of the most cleverly conceived in golf. Changes were made in advance of The 148th Open that included two new holes, the exceptional 7th and 8th, which turned the old 17th and 18th into a staging ground for the championship.

Fri, Sep 25 Royal County Down
Approximate travel time to your golf course today 2 hours
Golf today on Royal County Down 11:45am. Northern Ireland’s Royal County Down is routinely ranked among the World Top 5 and never less than first or second among the great clubs of the UK and Ireland for two reasons: the beauty of the setting and the brilliance of the design. Old Tom Morris authored the first 18 hole course here and gets a healthy share of the credit for this masterpiece but George Coombe and Harry Colt also had a hand in it, as have Donald Steele and Martin & Ebert in recent years. None would dispute however, that the site as it was found with its rugged dunes, natural corridors and hollows, golden gorse and purple heather was destined for greatness. The ninth stands out among many. This 427-yard par 4 begins with a blind tee shot to a fairway found eighty feet down a sidehill plunge where two cross bunkers protect a green saddled between two dunes.

Sat, Sep 26 Co. Louth
Approximate travel time to your golf course today 1 hour
Today play Co Louth Golf Club 11:30am. Found along the Irish Sea 40 minutes from Dublin’s airport, County Louth – or Baltray – is one of Ireland’s hidden gems. It was founded in 1892 but the essence of the layout was opened in 1938 as a Tom Simpson/Molly Gourlay design that has now been stretched to 7,031 yards. Simpson dotted the 190-acre property with only 50 bunkers, allowing the gorse and hilly terrain that borders the fairways to serve as its natural defense. There are no weak holes here and no two are alike. Better still, these greens are routinely among the best in the country. The club has hosted multiple Irish Opens and is a regular among Ireland’s top 10.

Sun, Sep 27 Royal Dublin
Approximate travel time to your golf course today 25 minutes
Golf on Royal Dublin 11:00am. One of the oldest links in Ireland, founded in 1885, Royal Dublin is a classic out-and-back links layout in a unique location on an island preserve in Dublin City. H.S. Colt rebuilt the course after it suffered heavy damage in the First World War which lead to a multitude of championships like the Irish Open won by the likes of Seve Ballesteros and Bernard Langer. Martin Hawtree’s redevelopment opened in 2006 as a formidable 7,269 yard test highlighted by “Hogan’s”, the par-four 15th that appears straightforward enough unless you find the left rough and under club your approach. Please note a very limited supply of golf carts are available for hire. Certain restrictions may apply, please advise your Golf Travel Specialist.

Sightseeing Suggestion: Visit Ireland's capital, which has fast become one of Europe's most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities. Amongst the many attractions are St.Patrick's Cathedral and Trinity College to view the Book of Kells in the College Library. There is a wealth of architectural detail with the medieval core of the city surrounded by elegant Georgian squares.

Mon, Sep 28 Portmarnock
Approximate travel time to your golf course today 10 minutes
Today play at historic Portmarnock 10:00am. Portmarnock Golf Club is the undisputed leading links in Dublin, found only 10 miles from the airport. It is also recognized as one of the finest in the world regularly listed among the top 50. The Irish Open has played here nearly 20 times along with the Walker Cup, the Irish Amateur Close Championship and the British Amateur Championship. Found on 500 acres of a sandy peninsula facing the Irish Sea, the club opened in 1894 with nine holes before nine more were added two years later forming the championship layout played today. The site is fairly flat without dramatic dunes which produces a predictable golf course where nothing is manmade. This along with consistently true greens has endeared the course to many over the years. Please note a very limited supply of golf carts are available for hire. Certain restrictions may apply, please advise your Golf Travel Specialist.

Sightseeing Suggestion: Enjoy a visit to the Howth peninsula, affording wonderful views of the city, and an ideal place to stop for a seafood lunch in one of the harbourside cafes. Continue to Malahide, a pretty village where narrow streets slope down to the sea. Make sure to visit Malahide Castle that dates back from to the 12th century.

Frequently Asked Questions
To help you decide, we've compiled answers to common questions about our Custom Tours. Curious about itineraries, accommodations, or logistics? Our FAQs cover it all. For personalized advice, our Golf Travel Experts are ready to assist.
-
How far in advance should I book a trip to ensure best availability?
Our best advice is to decide on your preferred trip and confirm the dates as soon as possible, for everything is a component of availability. If you are traveling during high season, the golf courses can have significant demand and sooner we are able to submit your groups request for tee times and similarly to the hotels, the likelihood of securing your exact, preferred schedule is enhanced.
-
What is the optimum size of a group?
Every group has different dynamics but we believe that groups of 8 travelers are more preferred, for two reasons; (1) a group of 8 people remains small enough that everyone can interact with each other easily and (2) in terms of access to golf tee times and hotel arrangements we have found this size of group to be the easiest to accommodate. Of course, we are delighted to assist with groups of 2 to 150 travelers.
-
When is the best time to travel?
It varies by destination. High season (for golf) is as follows;
-
Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales, France & Italy
April – October.
During the summer season you will enjoy the best possible chance of good weather. However Britain does experience changeable, unpredictable weather year round and it is therefore best to anticipate.
-
New Zealand & Australia
September – April
Peak season is December - February/March
-
Spain, Portugal & South Africa
January - December
South Africa is attractive all year round. Many prefer to visit from October - March. The summer months in the south of Spain and Portugal can be very hot and the condition of the courses deteriorates. Therefore the peak seasons in Spain and Portugal would be April – June & September – November.
-
Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales, France & Italy
-
What forms of payment do you accept?
Checks, MasterCard, VISA or wire transfer/ACH
-
Do I need travel insurance?
We strongly suggest and offer an attractive travel protection program. This information is described on the reservations forms.
-
When will I receive final travel information?
We ordinarily distribute final travel information 21 days in advance of departure. This includes all hotel contact details for your trip along with other pertinent information.
-
Can I ship my golf clubs ahead of me to my destination?
