Today PerryGolf guests arrived in Cape Town, South Africa for our Escorted Tour, “The Best of South Africa 2016.” Over the next 13 nights, guests will enjoy 5 rounds of golf, 3 nights on safari, a full day wine tour and much more.
South Africa’s phenomenal golf is reason enough for a visit. The game’s rich history and impressive new construction provides an abundant selection of outstanding layouts. Then, when you add a safari, plus Cape Town and the Cape Winelands, plus the Garden Route, perhaps Sun City Resort, the experience proves to be truly one of the most eventful – and exotic – golf and travel experiences imaginable. A bucket-list adventure for travelers of all ages!
At the recent International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) awards ceremony held in Spain, South Africa was awarded the ‘Africa, Indian Ocean and Gulf States Golf Destination of the Year 2011’. The winner of this prestigious travel award is a result of votes cast by more than 300 golf tour operators of many different nationalities.
As the demand for trips which incorporate golf along with the breathtaking safari on offer in South Africa grows, it comes as no surprise that this wonderful country is being recognized as a superb location for golfers from all over the world.
One of the reasons why South Africa is a popular destination for our groups – aside of the excellent golf – is to see wild animals in their natural habitat. Kruger National Park is a massive reserve, nearly 2 million hectares in size, which was established in 1898 to protect the wildlife of the South African Lowveld. Among the diverse animal population are more than 3,000 hippos and 5,000 giraffe. You can see everything (at a safe distance) from the elevated game-watching platforms. The wildlife is so varied and vast; elephants, lions, leopards, water buffalo, antelope, zebra, and wildebeest.
