Golf Cruise Host/Manager
(Part Time, on location as required)

Job Purpose

To host and manage PerryGolf golf cruise groups, as onboard group leader.

Key Duties

  • Leading a small team (typically lead host plus 1-2) in hosting and managing the golf cruise experience for our discerning golf-group guests, typically 40-60 in number, delivering the high service level for which our program has become renowned.

  • Liaising with the officers & crew of the ship re onboard arrangements for the golf group, including storage of golf bags and their required offship/onship movements for golf, the management of onboard golf-group exclusive social events, and all associated logistical matters.

  • Providing welcome briefing, speaking/presenting at each of the onboard golf-group social events, and as may be required at any golf course before or after play.

  • Liaising with the ground suppliers to ensure the (office-led) arrangements are all in place, ready for actioning at each destination.

  • Overseeing the details of each golf day, including ground transportation to/from the venue, golf equipment set-up, guest arrival and starting, F&B plans, re-packing of golf equipment.

  • Managing of one-day golf tournament for group (one per golf cruise) including distribution and explanation of rules, collection of scorecards, purchasing of prizes, and collating of results for the Awards Party.

  • Ensuring clear recording & reconciliation of all expenses incurred during the course of the golf cruise.

Desirable Experience & Traits

  • A strong organized mind, and clear thinker.

  • Involvement with golf, and an understanding of the game preferred.

  • Experience of travel, golf services, and/or hospitality logistics preferred.

  • An efficient time manager, who can multi-task.

  • Competent in communication via email and WhatsApp.

  • An ability to take ownership of all situations as required.

  • An ability to speak and present well on behalf of the company.

  • A level of physical strength and dexterity, as the role can involve a significant degree of physical effort.

  • A passion to deliver the very highest level of guest experience.

  • An ability to work independently, and also to work collaboratively as part of a team.

  • A cool head under pressure. Given the nature of travel, occasionally matters outwith our control will require quick and committed “Plan B” decisions.

  • Personable & credible. During each cruise, you will be the face of PerryGolf for our highly valued guests, our trusted ground suppliers, and our longstanding cruise ship partners.

Employment Details

  • Competitive Daily Fee Paid for each deployment. Travel onboard luxury cruise ship, with guest status, to attractive destinations and venues worldwide.

  • Each golf cruise deployment typically 10-14 nights. Number of golf cruises operated subject to negotiation/agreement. Opportunity for back-to-back deployments.

  • Non-golf days during any cruise often allows time to relax and/or sightsee as preferred.

  • Working with a close-knit and highly committed team. Strong friendships often formed with people of varying nationalities and backgrounds from around the world, including the PerryGolf/Azamara team, PerryGolf guests, and our golf course partners.

Tour Operations Coordinator
(Full Time, On-site, Helensburgh, Scotland)
Position Filled

Job Purpose

Responsibility for arranging contracted ground services at destinations around the world in connection with our golf cruise program, and our set departure date escorted land tours.

Key Duties

  • Requesting and confirming bookings for hotels, golf courses, ground transportation, guides, and other ancillary services as may be required from time to time. This will involve communication with ground suppliers (eg golf courses and hotels), and also communication with trusted DMCs (Destination Management Companies) through whom certain services are contracted.

  • Liaising with the respective onboard teams of our trusted golf cruise ship partners (Azamara) in providing various golf-group details.

  • Updating ground suppliers, as required from time to time, on the status of our sales progress.

  • Establishing the optimum final arrangements and required timings for ground transportation and golf arrangements, subject to finalised ship or flight timings.

  • Creation and maintenance of our planning grids for each golf cruise, and set departure date land tour, following standard company template.

  • Providing detailed final information to ground suppliers, including guest lists, timings, agreed arrangements, based around our standard company template.

  • Scheduling PerryGolf host/manager teams for set departure date tours and providing detailed tour information to assist them prior to their trips.

  • Approving invoices and initiating payments (deposits and final balances) to ground suppliers and to PerryGolf host/manager teams.

  • Recording actual costs and reconciling against budgeted costs.

  • Follow up with ground suppliers and DMCs to ensure our strong relationships are maintained.

  • Provide feedback to our cruise & tour development team on your views of the respective strengths of each supplier partner and DMC in delivering an outstanding guest experience.

  • Personable & credible. You will be the face of PerryGolf with our trusted ground suppliers and DMCs, and communication with them, both verbal and written, requires to be timely, and of the highest standard.

Employment Details

  • Competitive salary paid. By negotiation, and subject to the experience of the candidate.

  • 28 days holiday entitlement, inclusive of UK public holidays (ie 20 days holiday plus 8 days in lieu of UK public holidays).

  • Working with a close-knit, and highly committed team.

  • Travel may be required from time-to-time to our tour destinations in the British Isles and internationally.
