PerryGolf is proud to partner with Azamara® for an exceptional 15 night, 4 round voyage from Tokyo to Singapore onboard the outstanding 700 guest Azamara Journey. Our itinerary takes in a variety of cultures as we sail the South China Sea, making calls in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vietnam, before arriving in Singapore. We enjoy overnight stays in iconic Hong Kong, and Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City, all in all a great opportunity to more fully experience these destinations.

Our golf includes four rounds including Southern Links in Japan, the stunning Clearwater Bay in Hong Kong, plus the outstanding Ba Na Hills Golf Club and Tan Son Nhat in Vietnam. ... Read More.

Azamara Journey, which serves as our perfect floating boutique hotel and clubhouse, is a mid-sized luxury vessel nimble enough to access smaller ports yet large enough to provide every amenity you would expect, from a choice of fine dining and live entertainment, to a well-equipped gym and full-service spa.  Forty-six suites are available with English butler style service which routinely book early.  Sailing schedules often include extended stays in port plus the occasional overnight which allows for a truly immersive experience.  Better still, these cruises are inclusive of a selection of beers, spirits, soft drinks, bottled water, specialty coffees plus wine with lunch and dinner along with gratuities for housekeeping, dining and bar staff.  Azamara also proudly boasts two unique signature events on each cruise – an AzAmazing Evening℠ and the White Night party – complimentary to all guests and consistently well received.

Every aspect of the golf program is fully managed by PerryGolf staff onboard and ashore. Your clubs will be ready and waiting at each venue. Tee times and pairings arranged and posted in advance. A convenient transportation schedule affords suitable time to warm up at the range, and to make the almost inevitable pro shop merchandise purchase. Carts are always included, subject to availability.  A friendly competition is staged at a selected course, with prizes awarded at our farewell gathering.  A snack lunch is included on-course plus an open bar operates in the clubhouse at the conclusion of the round.  Our typical guest list which brings together like-minded individuals generally numbers between 40 and 50, with new friendships invariably formed during each cruise.  Many guests are golfing couples but an equal number are golfers travelling with a non-golfing spouse.  Specially arranged onboard golf group social functions, to which all accompanying non-golfing spouses are most warmly welcomed, further enhances the club-like environment.  The award winning Azamara Shore Excursions® program, offering a wide variety of off ship excursions, also caters beautifully to our non-golfing guests during days when our golfing excursions are underway.

The “2024 Japan, Hong Kong & Vietnam Golf Cruise” is a genuinely full-featured vacation and a special opportunity to enjoy yourself in the company of like-minded new friends!

APRIL 21, SUNDAY: NAHA, OKINAWA, JAPAN (8:00AM / 6:00PM)

GOLF: Play Southern Links Golf Club, that perched atop cliffs, this resort course overlooks Hanashiro Beach on the east coast of Okinawa. The course seamlessly combines a number of holes with magnificent Pacific views and inland holes which provide a setting more akin to a tropical garden.

SIGHTSEEING: With unique history, a subtropical climate, and crystal-blue waters, the southern islands of Okinawa are an exotic paradise. At the heart of this Japanese prefecture is the capital city of Naha, which combines a tropical atmosphere with a modern vibe. For local culture, explore the Tsuboya pottery district, which has produced ceramics since 1682, or the Makishi Public Market where you can buy fresh seafood and have it cooked at a number of eateries inside. A must-see is Shurijo-koen, the reconstructed castle of the Okinawan royal family, and its famed wall gate—Shurei-no-mon. It’s the iconic image of Okinawa and can also be found on Japan's ¥2000 bank note. For water enthusiasts, check out Naha’s fishing and sailing expeditions. Swim amongst the coral reefs at Maeda Point, or venture to Okinawa’s most popular diving spot, the wreck of the USS Emmons, which was sunk in 1944 during WWII. As night falls, go to the lively Kokusai-dori (International Boulevard) for an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars, shops, and clubs.

Enjoy Osaka on your own or via Azamara Shore Excursions®.

Overnight: At Sea

APRIL 22, MONDAY: ISHIGAKI, JAPAN (1:00PM / 7:00PM)

This island off Okinawa isn’t typically what comes to mind when you think of Japan. Lush rainforests, mangrove-draped rivers, white sand beaches, and coral reefs will have you feeling like you’ve stepped off the ship into a tropical paradise during your cruise to Japan with Azamara®. With influences from Japanese, Taiwanese, Chinese, and American culture, the architecture, food, and way of life on Ishigaki are incredibly unique—from samurai-style homes, to Chinese-inspired monuments, to laid-back beach vibes. Speaking of beaches, head to the west side of the island for pristine stretches of sand dotted with coral. Yonehara Beach is best for snorkeling around reefs, and Sunset Beach is perfect for a late-evening stroll. At Kabira Bay take a glass-bottomed boat tour of its emerald-blue waters and explore one of only two sites in Japan that harvest black pearls. A kayak trip down the Mayara River unlocks a jungle-like world draped in mangroves, and a hike along the well-maintained footpaths of the Maetake rainforest takes you through dozens of varieties of palm trees.

Enjoy Ishigaki on your own or via Azamara Shore Excursions®.

APRIL 23, TUESDAY: KEELUNG (TAIPEI), TAIWAN (8:00AM / 8:00PM)

There are two facets to today’s Taipei: the modern, international east side with its up-scale malls, chic boutiques and trendy restaurants, and the west, bastion of traditional life, its narrow lanes lined with vendors’ stalls. Monuments to the past honor Sun Yat Sen and Chiang Kai Shek. A monument to the future is Taipei 101, the International Financial Center, one of the tallest buildings in the world.

Not to be missed is the National Palace Museum, a treasure trove of breathtaking Chinese art and artifacts. And don’t forget to eat! Restaurants are plentiful and offer every type of regional Chinese cuisine.

Enjoy Keelung (Taipei) on your own or via Azamara Shore Excursions®.

APRIL 24, WEDNESDAY: AT SEA

Another relaxing day at sea.

Overnight: At Sea

APRIL 25, THURSDAY: HONG KONG, CHINA (8:00AM/ IN PORT)

GOLF: Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club is located on a rocky outcrop on the Sai Kung Peninsula, tucked away on the outskirts of Hong Kong, yet easily accessible from all areas of the city.  It is blessed with a stunning environment that is removed from the hustle and bustle of city life, and which can be compared to Pebble Beach and New South Wales.  Divided into the “Highland Nine” and the “Ocean Nine”, the course commands a breathtaking backdrop formed by green hills, distant islands and the South China Sea dotted with yachts and junks. The signature hole, number three, has been awarded as one of the 500 Best Holes in the World.

SIGHTSEEING: When you travel to Hong Kong, don’t forget to look up—way up— to see the 1,223 skyscrapers here (more than any other city in the world, if you’re counting). Just don’t try to find the fourth floor in any; the number is very similar to the Cantonese word for “die” so most buildings simply omit any floors that contain the number. For the best view of the iconic skyline, take a tram to the wok-shaped Peak Tower high atop Victoria Peak, which is also one of Hong Kong’s most exclusive neighborhoods. Better still, hop on the tram between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan for a cost-effective and authentic city-tour.

And if all that gazing and exploring has left you feeling peckish, Hong Kong is a foodie’s dream. Michelin-starred restaurants share walls with tiny dim-sum kitchens. But some of the most delicious morsels like curry fish meatballs, fried squid, and egg waffles can be found sizzling at one of the many street food vendor

APRIL 27, SATURDAY: AT SEA

Another relaxing day at sea.

APRIL 28, SUNDAY: HUE (DA NANG), VIETNAM, (8:00AM / 8:00PM)

GOLF: Ba Na Golf Club is located in the rolling foothills of the famed Ba Na Hills on Vietnam’s central coast, just a half hour drive from Danang.  Designed by Luke Donald, former world number one, and managed by IMG, it has picked up various awards since its opening in 2016, receiving best Asia golf course at the World Golf Awards in 2020 and 2021.  It is also currently ranked within Golf Digest Top 100 international courses worldwide.

SIGHTSEEING:  Vietnam’s third largest city, Da Nang is the perfect base for day trips to both imperial Hue and charming Hoi An, two vastly different but equally worth-a-visit destinations.

Perched on the picturesque Perfume River, the main attraction in Hue is its immense imperial city, a sprawling complex of temples, pavilions, moats, shops, museums, and galleries that was modeled after Beijing’s forbidden city. In contrast, Hoi An is a graceful small town with a UNESCO World Heritage Site old town filled with two-story shop houses featuring elaborately carved wooden facades—a leftover from its past as an international trading port and marketplace. Hit the streets with two feet and a heartbeat to discover the many charms of Hoi An. Fashionistas will want to visit the shops—more than 600 clothing stores can be found in this small area.

Enjoy Da Nang on your own or via Azamara Shore Excursions®.

APRIL 29, MONDAY: AT SEA

Another relaxing day at sea.

Overnight: At Sea

APRIL 30, TUESDAY: HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM (10:00AM / IN PORT)

Enjoy a beautiful early morning navigation of the Saigon River right into the heart of the city.

GOLF: Tan Son Nhat was built to meet the increasing demand from city residents and international visitors. Nelson & Haworth Golf Course Architects have designed a top course out of the relatively flat landscape, with earth mounding, hazards, bunkers, and undulating greens a feature of every hole. Paspalum turf has been used throughout and ensures top year-round playing conditions.

SIGHTSEEING: Whether you call it Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City, this charming port by any other name would still be as sweet. There’s an infectious energy on the streets at all hours of the day and in nightclubs that don’t really start hopping until well after midnight. Vietnam’s largest city, HCMC—as the locals refer to it—is filled with French colonial architecture and Asian influences, creating a truly unique destination. Many of the traditional French-style homes have been converted into trendy restaurants serving Vietnamese cuisine. Be sure to try the Bahn Mi—this ubiquitous sandwich is served on French-style baguette with Vietnamese ingredients like lemon grass chicken and pickled daikon and is the ultimate form of fusion cuisine.

Enjoy Ho Chi Minh City on your own or via Azamara Shore Excursions®.

Important Information

Golf Handicap Limit: The golf courses we play around the world offer varying challenges. Players often require to be of a certain standard to properly and fully experience them in the company of likeminded fellow golfers. We therefore set a maximum permitted golf handicap to participate on our tours and cruises; The maximums are 28 for men and 36 for ladies.

Golf Courses: The included list may be subject to change in the event of any club accepting any conflicting national or international event, or for any other reason. Should such a situation occur, PerryGolf will endeavour to book a course of comparable standard, and all booked guests would be notified of the change and replacement venue at the earliest opportunity.

Transfers: No transfers are included to or from the ship at arrival/departure airports.
