PerryGolf is proud to partner with Azamara® for an exceptional 17-night, 5-round golf and sightseeing voyage from Tokyo to Singapore.  This cruise with less than 700 guests onboard Azamara Quest takes in a variety of cultures as we sail the South China Sea, making calls in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vietnam, before arriving in Singapore. We enjoy overnight stays in Japan’s Kagoshima, iconic Hong Kong and Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City, promising a great opportunity to more fully experience these destinations.

Our golf includes five rounds including Osaka and Tosa in Japan, the stunning Clearwater Bay in Hong Kong, plus the outstanding Da Nang Golf Club and Tan Son Nhat in Vietnam. ... Read More.

Azamara Quest, which serves as our perfect floating boutique hotel and clubhouse, is a mid-sized luxury vessel nimble enough to access smaller ports yet large enough to provide every amenity you would expect, from a choice of fine dining and live entertainment, to a well-equipped gym and full-service spa.  Forty-six suites are available with English butler style service which routinely book early.  Sailing schedules often include extended stays in port plus the occasional overnight which allows for a truly immersive experience.  Better still, these cruises are inclusive of a selection of beers, spirits, soft drinks, bottled water, specialty coffees plus wine with lunch and dinner along with gratuities for housekeeping, dining and bar staff.  Azamara also proudly boasts two unique signature events on each cruise – an AzAmazing Evening℠ and the White Night party – complimentary to all guests and consistently well received.

Every aspect of the golf program is fully managed by PerryGolf staff onboard and ashore. Your clubs will be ready and waiting at each venue. Tee times and pairings arranged and posted in advance. A convenient transportation schedule affords suitable time to warm up at the range, and to make the almost inevitable pro shop merchandise purchase. Carts are always included, subject to availability.  A friendly competition is staged at a selected course, with prizes awarded at our farewell gathering.  A snack lunch is included on-course plus an open bar operates in the clubhouse at the conclusion of the round.  Our typical guest list which brings together like-minded individuals generally numbers between 40 and 50, with new friendships invariably formed during each cruise.  Many guests are golfing couples but an equal number are golfers travelling with a non-golfing spouse.  Specially arranged onboard golf group social functions, to which all accompanying non-golfing spouses are most warmly welcomed, further enhances the club-like environment.  The award winning Azamara Shore Excursions® program, offering a wide variety of off ship excursions, also caters beautifully to our non-golfing guests during days when our golfing excursions are underway.

The “2023 Japan, Hong Kong & Vietnam Golf Cruise” is a genuinely full-featured vacation and a special opportunity to enjoy yourself in the company of like-minded new friends!

APRIL 20, THURSDAY: OSAKA, JAPAN (7:30AM / 8:00PM)

GOLF: Osaka Golf Club is one of Japan’s most highly rated courses and, although predominantly a parkland wooded layout, enjoys a coastal location alongside the town of Misaki to the south of Osaka. The course sits on a small line of cliffs and offers several great views out into Osaka Bay.

SIGHTSEEING: Dating back to the fifth and sixth centuries BC, Osaka commands a pivotal role in Japan’s economy, and is the ultimate urban Japanese experience. Taste fine samples of regional cuisine such as traditional okonomiyaki, pan-fried battercake. Marvel at the staggering skyline, the shōtengai shopping arcades, and the city’s many monuments, museums, and landmarks such as the National Museum of Art, the ornamental Osaka Castle, the unmistakable Umeda Sky Building, and the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, one of the best in the world. Don’t miss the lively and very flashy Dōtonbori district, alongside the canal.

For a decidedly inspired change of pace, venture off to nearby Kyoto to visit one of the city’s 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites like the Simogamo Shrine, the Temple of the Golden Pavillion, or the Temple of the Peaceful Dragon. Catch a glimpse of geisha fluttering down stone-paved streets, innumerable other Buddhist temples and Shintō shrines, plus untold hidden gems, all in the heart of Japanese culture.

Enjoy Osaka on your own or via Azamara Shore Excursions®.

Overnight: At Sea

APRIL 21, FRIDAY: KOCHI, JAPAN (9:30AM / 6:00PM)

GOLF: Tosa Country Club opened in 1942 originally with nine holes, but later expanded, and it is now considered the finest golf facility in the Kochi Prefecture of Japan. The courses overlook the Pacific Ocean, and enjoy a challenging but refreshing sea breeze, with subtropical plants such as hibiscus, cycads, and phoenix enhancing the environment.  Tosa Country Club has been a regular host to the Japanese Tour.   The Club provides an authentic and highly memorable Japanese golf experience.  Please note required sailing times will restrict our visit to 9 holes.

SIGHTSEEING: Kōchi is a city with a well-earned reputation for having a good time. Named after the castle that sits in the heart of the city, Kōchi delights visitors with its sightseeing, unique regional cuisine, and lively nightlife. Begin your visit with a trip to Kōchi Castle, one of only 12 original castles still standing in Japan. Stroll the grounds and see the bronze statue of Yamanouchi Kazutouo, the largest equestrian statue in Japan.   Be sure to try Sawachi cuisine—a style of dish native to the region—including Kōchi’s signature dish, katsuo no tataki (seared bonito). Wash it down with a shōchū with the locals, who are well known for their joie de vivre!

Enjoy Kochi on your own or via Azamara Shore Excursions®.

Overnight: At Sea

APRIL 22, SATURDAY: KAGOSHIMA, JAPAN (1:00PM / IN PORT)

Enjoy a leisurely morning and lunchtime arrival into Kagoshima.

The dominant image on Kagoshima’s horizon is that of Sakurajima, the overactive volcano whose frequent dustings of ash bring out the umbrellas as if they were spring showers. The mountain also heats a number of geothermal springs, providing the unique opportunity to relax in a “sand bath” that will leave you feeling relaxed and energized. For a rare taste of old Japan, visit Chiran and its street of seven meticulously preserved Samurai houses and their manicured gardens. These handsome residences exemplify Japanese aesthetic principles, which reflect simplicity, and a restrained and refined sense of beauty.

APRIL 25, TUESDAY: KEELUNG (TAIPEI), TAIWAN (8:00AM / 8:00PM)

There are two facets to today’s Taipei: the modern, international east side with its up-scale malls, chic boutiques and trendy restaurants, and the west, bastion of traditional life, its narrow lanes lined with vendors’ stalls. Monuments to the past honor Sun Yat Sen and Chiang Kai Shek. A monument to the future is Taipei 101, the International Financial Center, one of the tallest buildings in the world.

Not to be missed is the National Palace Museum, a treasure trove of breathtaking Chinese art and artifacts. And don’t forget to eat! Restaurants are plentiful and offer every type of regional Chinese cuisine.

Enjoy Keelung (Taipei) on your own or via Azamara Shore Excursions®.

APRIL 26, WEDNESDAY: AT SEA

Another relaxing day at sea.

Overnight: At Sea

APRIL 27, THURSDAY: HONG KONG, CHINA (8:00AM/ IN PORT)

GOLF: Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club is located on a rocky outcrop on the Sai Kung Peninsula, tucked away on the outskirts of Hong Kong, yet easily accessible from all areas of the city.  It is blessed with a stunning environment that is removed from the hustle and bustle of city life, and which can be compared to Pebble Beach and New South Wales.  Divided into the “Highland Nine” and the “Ocean Nine”, the course commands a breathtaking backdrop formed by green hills, distant islands and the South China Sea dotted with yachts and junks. The signature hole, number three, has been awarded as one of the 500 Best Holes in the World.

SIGHTSEEING: When you travel to Hong Kong, don’t forget to look up—way up— to see the 1,223 skyscrapers here (more than any other city in the world, if you’re counting). Just don’t try to find the fourth floor in any; the number is very similar to the Cantonese word for “die” so most buildings simply omit any floors that contain the number. For the best view of the iconic skyline, take a tram to the wok-shaped Peak Tower high atop Victoria Peak, which is also one of Hong Kong’s most exclusive neighborhoods. Better still, hop on the tram between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan for a cost-effective and authentic city-tour.

And if all that gazing and exploring has left you feeling peckish, Hong Kong is a foodie’s dream. Michelin-starred restaurants share walls with tiny dim-sum kitchens. But some of the most delicious morsels like curry fish meatballs, fried squid, and egg waffles can be found sizzling at one of the many street food vendor

APRIL 29, SATURDAY: AT SEA

Another relaxing day at sea.

Overnight: At Sea

APRIL 30, SUNDAY: HUE (DA NANG), VIETNAM, (8:00AM / 6:00PM)

GOLF: Da Nang Golf Club. Reminiscent of both Scottish links golf and Carolina sand hills golf, Greg Norman has created what is rated by many to be Vietnam’s best course. It is situated on the central coast of Vietnam amid 150 hectares of dunescape. It most notable features are blown-out bunkers, firm and fast fairways that bleed gently into wild seaside vegetation, rugged waste areas, swales and hollows with its signature hole the stunning, par-3 16th hole – back-dropped by traditional, long-tail fishing boats that troll the warm waters of the East Sea.

SIGHTSEEING:  Vietnam’s third largest city, Da Nang is the perfect base for day trips to both imperial Hue and charming Hoi An, two vastly different but equally worth-a-visit destinations.

Perched on the picturesque Perfume River, the main attraction in Hue is its immense imperial city, a sprawling complex of temples, pavilions, moats, shops, museums, and galleries that was modeled after Beijing’s forbidden city. In contrast, Hoi An is a graceful small town with a UNESCO World Heritage Site old town filled with two-story shop houses featuring elaborately carved wooden facades—a leftover from its past as an international trading port and marketplace. Hit the streets with two feet and a heartbeat to discover the many charms of Hoi An. Fashionistas will want to visit the shops—more than 600 clothing stores can be found in this small area.

Enjoy Da Nang on your own or via Azamara Shore Excursions®.

Overnight: At Sea

MAY 1, MONDAY: AT SEA

Another relaxing day at sea.

Overnight: At Sea

MAY 2, TUESDAY: HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM (10:00AM / IN PORT)

Enjoy an early morning navigation of the Saigon River right into the heart of the city.

GOLF: Tan Son Nhat Golf Course was built to meet the increasing demand from city residents and international visitors. Nelson & Haworth Golf Course Architects have designed a top course out of the relatively flat landscape, with earth mounding, hazards, bunkers, and undulating greens a feature of every hole. Paspalum turf has been used throughout and ensures top year-round playing conditions.

SIGHTSEEING: Whether you call it Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City, this charming port by any other name would still be as sweet. There’s an infectious energy on the streets at all hours of the day and in nightclubs that don’t really start hopping until well after midnight. Vietnam’s largest city, HCMC—as the locals refer to it—is filled with French colonial architecture and Asian influences, creating a truly unique destination. Many of the traditional French-style homes have been converted into trendy restaurants serving Vietnamese cuisine. Be sure to try the Bahn Mi—this ubiquitous sandwich is served on French-style baguette with Vietnamese ingredients like lemon grass chicken and pickled daikon and is the ultimate form of fusion cuisine.

Enjoy Ho Chi Minh City on your own or via Azamara Shore Excursions®.

Important Information

Golf Handicap Limit: The golf courses we play around the world offer varying challenges. Players often require to be of a certain standard to properly and fully experience them in the company of likeminded fellow golfers. We therefore set a maximum permitted golf handicap to participate on our tours and cruises; The maximums are 28 for men and 36 for ladies.

Golf Courses: The included list may be subject to change in the event of any club accepting any conflicting national or international event, or for any other reason. Should such a situation occur, PerryGolf will endeavour to book a course of comparable standard, and all booked guests would be notified of the change and replacement venue at the earliest opportunity.

Transfers: No transfers are included to or from the ship at arrival/departure airports.
