It wasn’t until 2002 when two-time British Open Champion, Greg Norman, designed this magnificent par 72 links course…carved out of a landscape of grass covered dunes which border the Atlantic Ocean for over 6,800 yards. Offering panoramic views of the ocean and the Irish countryside on each hole, the layout stretches 1.5 miles of crescent shaped beach and century old sand dunes along Doughmore Bay.
In line with Norman’s philosophy of ‘least disturbance, ‘he took the natural route in designing the links out through the sand dunes, which makes it even more remarkable that 16 holes offer views of the Atlantic.
