The Old Course at St. Andrews has been named as the world’s number one course by a poll of golf course architects from all over the world.

The Old Course obviously holds a huge attraction as the Home of Golf with all of the historical significance that goes with that; however some (I think unfairly) level a degree of criticism at the old lady for not being challenging enough – especially if the wind is not blowing. It’s great to see the course getting recognition as a course in its own right and not just for the history.
