PerryGolf is delighted to offer a very special golf cruise for a fortunate few around the Iberian Peninsula on the utterly exclusive mega-yacht SeaDream II.
7 Nights | 4 Rounds | 10-17 October 2015
Our itinerary begins in the vibrant Spanish city of Barcelona and concludes in Lisbon, capital city of Portugal. Each city offers excellent air access. Our golf schedule, perfectly paced throughout the week, will incorporate four of the peninsula’s finest courses; El Saler, Finca Cortesin, Valderrama, consistently rated #1 in continental Europe, and finally The Oceanica Faldo Course in the beautiful Algarve region of Portugal. The program includes greens fees and cart fees and will of course be fully managed by PerryGolf, from tee times to golf equipment handling and ground transportation all completely arranged.
There will be seven ports of call to explore and on board you will be utterly spoiled. Carrying just over 100 guests, and with an award winning crew of 95, the yachts of SeaDream are consistently ranked as the finest in the small ship category by all the definitive cruise guides. Quality of service and outstanding dining are SeaDream hallmarks. The experience is entirely all-inclusive, with dining, boutique wines, open bar, and gratuities covered. Another highlight of the week is sure to be SeaDream’s fabulous onboard spa, fully accredited by the Thai Spa Association.
There’s just enough time (and availability) remaining for you to enjoy world class golf and service while yachting around the beautiful Iberian Peninsula on board a truly special mega-yacht.
El Saler is located on the outskirts of Valencia within the Albufera Nature Park. Designed by Javier Arana, one of the most prestigious Spanish designers and opened in 1968, it sits nearby the beach occupying terrain dotted with pine trees and sand dunes and has a distinctly “links” feel. It’s famous “cats claw” (not dissimilar to the Monterey Penisula’s “iceplant”) is certainly to be avoided in the rough.
Valderrama has been consistently rated number one in Continental Europe since 1998. Designed in 1974 by Robert Trent Jones, this very private club underwent a number of modifications, and for many years hosted the European Tour season ending Volvo masters. It will always be remembered for the 1997 Ryder Cup with the European Team being captained by the late, great and charismatic Severiano Ballesteros.
Finca Cortesin is ranked as one of Spain’s finest golf courses by Golf Digest Magazine. Cabell B. Robinson’s design beautifully complements the natural landscape. It provides a perfect balance between 20 varieties of flora, the typical Mediterranean forest and the perfectly manicured bermuda grasses of the golf course. Finca Cortesin played host to the prestigious Volvo World Match Play Championship for 3 years, with many of the world’s finest professional competing.
The Oceanica Faldo Course at Amendoeira, designed by Sir Nick Faldo, opened for play in 2008. In a modern twist of a traditional recipe, cacti and wild herbs replace the role of Sunningdale’s heather, and spartan holm oaks and ancient olive trees take the place of a lush English woodland, and desert scrub bunkers of crushed limestone replace Berkshire’s sandy tracts in a golf course that revels in the classic principles of strategic play. It also enjoys great views, in particular on the back nine.
