PerryGolf - America’s leading
provider of luxury international golf vacations. Founded in
1984 by a pair of Scottish brothers who were accomplished amateur
golfers in the United Kingdom. Company maintains a marketing
and sales office in Atlanta GA with operational headquarters
located in Helensburgh, Scotland. PerryGolf is recognized and
respected for providing unique and innovative golf travel experiences
including privately chartered small-ship cruises, luxury train
tours, helicopter tours and personalized land tours utilizing
an exclusive fleet of nine custom-configured Mercedes-Benz VIP
Golf Coaches. Over the years, the business has evolved into
two distinct programs;
Customized Travel - the creation of
personalized golf trips for a group of golfers (and on occasion
non golfers) who know each other and wish to travel together.
PerryGolf designs, implements and executes these trips as key
element of our core business. Group size can vary from single
travelers to groups well in excess of 100 travelers.
Grand Touring
- Unique programs which are exclusive to PerryGolf and include
ship and train charters that in turn we uses these conveyances
for tours which are designed to provide the finest golf travel
experience. Examples include British Open by Sea, Mediterranean
by Sea, Royal Scotsman to the British Open. All of our current
information is available on our website as is more detailed
background information if required.
Destinations Served
- British Isles (Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales), Spain (Costa
del Sol), Portugal (Lisbon & Algarve) specializing in golf
travel. On occasion, limited special opportunity programs are
implements, e.g. Mediterranean Golf by Sea & Caribbean by
Sea.
Client interest / motivation - For
many a golf trip to the British Isles provides a level of golf
experience which is unique in the world. The types of courses
(“links” golf courses are the most popular), the
weather, local interest in the game and historical significance
all work together to create an ambience that is impossible to
duplicate elsewhere. Another specific interest is attendance
to the British Open, one of golf’s top four professional
tournaments played each year during the 3rd week of July.
Significance of destinations - Scotland
is widely regarded as the “Home of Golf” and as
result many golfers wish to play golf where the game started.
Golf is unique as a sport due to a profound interest in the
history and traditions of the game. Golf throughout the British
Isles is also viewed as a significantly different experience
due to the type of golf course, links…which by definition
is the reclaimed land from the sea. For our other destinations,
the interest lies somewhere between quality golf experiences
and lifestyle choices. Travel to enjoy a new golf course AND
a different culture.
Target Audience - Male golfers, 45
- 70 years of age on Customized programs. Couples golfers and
non-golfers, 45-75 years of age on packaged/fixed programs like
cruises and train tours.(Grand Touring programs)
Key Questions - Customized
Travel
In order for a PerryGolf Travel Specialist to prepare a customized
quote, we require just a few questions be answered. This provides
sufficient data that we can formulate the initial proposals
which serves as something of a road map for the proposed trip.
It helps everyone involved in the process as it focuses the
client’s attention on a specific plan.
PerryGolf Process - inquiry to booking
to final documents:

are closed due to events scheduled in advance, but is not
based on real-time availability.
-
You are welcome to revert to your PerryGolf Travel Specialist
with any changes you wish to your client’s schedule.
Due to club rules we sometimes need to change the flow of
schedules to accommodate as many of your preferred courses
as possible.

on a schedule they wish to book, you shall receive our reservations

a schedule which satisfies your client's requirements, there
is no financial obligation to either party, and all arrangements
are cancelled.
-
It is critically important during the confirmation phase
of the booking that you are aware of the time constraints
PerryGolf deals with our suppliers. Some facilities will
only hold space for a brief period of time before they require
non refundable deposits.

to Troon
Loch Lomond - VERY private club
which DOES NOT accept visitors unless accompanied by a member.
Ireland
Be aware, in very general terms that golf courses in Ireland
are more widely dispersed than in Scotland or England. Additionally,
the roads are not as developed as a result a 30 mile journey
may take 60 minutes. This is an ideal destination for the
use of helicopter transportation.
Ballybunion - Probably
the most famous of Irish courses. Located on the west coast
Portmarnock - Located slightly north
of Dublin (east coast).
Old Head - New course, south of Cork,
spectacular views and has received much attention

There is no meaningful golf near Madrid. Most popular golf
is on the Costa del Sol, which is on the southern coast. Fly
into Malaga (AGP) via Madrid or other European city.
Valderrama - Hosted the 1997 Ryder
Cup Matches. Located at western end of Costa del Sol
Sotogrande - Not as famous as its
neighbor across the street, Valderrama but a fine test of
golf and well known to Americans.
Portugal
Most of the noted golf is in the Algarve, on the southern
coast of Portugal. There a few new courses near Lisbon (4
hours by car, north of the Algarve). Lisbon is the capital.
Faro (FAO) is preferred airport in the Algarve.
San Lorenzo - The highest ranked
course in Portugal. Common ownership with the Dona Filipa
Hotel.
Vilamoura - The Old Course is an excellent
course, 15 minutes from Dona Filipa

the Dona Filipa
Hotels
PerryGolf has worked tirelessly with all of the better properties

as possible. To this end we have developed our Preferred Partners
