ENGLAND: Opening
this September is The
Grove, London's first luxury golf resort within
the M 25. Located only 20 minutes from Heathrow and
40 minutes from Central London, this new 5-star resort
and spa with its championship Kyle Phillips golf course
is the perfect end or beginning to a golf vacation
or a London business trip.
IRELAND:
The
K Club, home to the 2006 Ryder Cup opened its
second course, The South Course, another Arnold Palmer-design
opened this summer.
The K Club has also launched The
International Club, with membership privileges for
those residing outside of Ireland.
SCOTLAND:
Turnberry
renamed the 18th hole on the Ailsa Course "Duel
in the Sun" in commemoration of the classic duel
between Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus in the 1977 Open
Championship, during this year's Senior British Open
Championship. Watson won the battle in 1997, and although
both Nicklaus and Watson were in the field this year,
Watson had a different dueling partner in Carl Mason
during the sudden-death play-off, which produced similar
results to 1977 - Watson won again.
