AIRLINES: Congratulations
to Continental Airlines whose BusinessFirst
has won Best Executive/Business Class award in the
OAG Airline of the Year Awards 2003. The awards are
based on votes by frequent flyers around the world
who subscribe to OAG print and electronic travel information
products.
IRELAND:
After an extensive 3-month 2 million Euro renovation
the five-star Killarney Park Hotel
has reopened. Included in the refurbishment is a spectacular
new entrance and a redecorated Park Restaurant and
Garden Bar. The Spa at Killarney Park
is set to debut this June with eight private treatment
rooms, a relaxation room, juice bar, Hydrotherapy
Bath and a Caldarium - a relaxing room that radiates
heat from stone slab seating, walls and floors. In
addition their is the exclusive line of Eve Lom and
Elemis Aromapure Spa-Therapy products and services
from London's leading facial therapist... The
K Club, host venue to the 2006 Ryder Cup
debuts its new championship course this July... Powerscourt
outside Dublin opens its new 18-hole championship
course by David Kidd June 14... Guests at 145-room,
20-suite Dublin hotel The Merrion
gain a new dining option with the debut of The Cellar
Restaurant.
SCOTLAND: Congratulations
to Kingsbarns named in May as the
'Most Outstanding Golf Course' for 2002 by the Scottish
Incoming Golf Tour Operators
Association... Craigelaw, a Donald
Steel-designed new links course just outside Gullane,
opened its spectacular, spacious new clubhouse in
May... MacDonald Hotels (Rusacks, The Marine, North
Berwick) opened its new Cardrona Hotel and
Country Club adjacent to the Dave Thomas
course of the same name outside Peebles in the Scottish
Borders this May. The 100-room hotel features a state-of-the-art
health facility and full spa services... Congratulations
to The Duke's G.C. in St. Andrews,
which will play host to the Scottish Amateur Championship
July, 28 - August 2, 2003. It was first played in
St. Andrews in 1922 and has not been back since 1976.
