MEMO FROM HELENSBURGH

Believe it or not, while much of the United States was suffering through a long late winter and wet early spring with the wettest & coldest weather on record, the British Isles enjoyed a beautiful, dry late winter and early spring with the best weather on record. This has resulted in some of the best course conditions in decades. And due to a relatively soft spring booking season, there are still plenty of tee times available at top courses and rooms available at favourite accommodations throughout the British isles.

The 132nd Open Championship will be played at Royal St. George's in Southeast England, also ensuring many of the crowds will be away from Scotland's fairways this July. While Old Course times may, over certain dates (this September especially with R & A Fall meeting and the Dunhill Links Championship) still be difficult to secure, even with our inventory and access to guaranteed tee times, it is no reason to postpone a trip to 'The Home of Golf' if a guaranteed tee time on the Old Course cannot be obtained prior to leaving. St Andrews is a wonderful place to base out of for an extended period of time whether waiting for a time through the ballot or not. Within an hour's drive are challenging hidden gems worthy of playing that include Scotscraig, Lundin, Leven, Panmure, Elie and Crail's Balcomie; or well known favourites such as Carnoustie, New and Jubliee; and a crew of new modern classics - Kingsbarns, The Duke's, and St Andrews Bay's Devlin and Torrance courses. The town itself has a variety of quality restaurants and shops. And the PerryGolf Suites at The St Andrews Golf Hotel, or the St Andrews Golfing Lodge, make a perfect home base for groups utilizing the PerryGolf VIP Coaches. Nor will you tire of a prolonged stay in the luxury of St Andrews Bay Resort or the in-town charm of historic Rusacks Hotel.

We are really excited about our 2004 Grand Touring programs, especially the addition of a program aboard the magnificent SeaDream II around the Mediterranean! The golf is spectacular from the views to the course conditioning and layouts that will test every level of player. Our itinerary takes us to the fabled Riviera, the magical islands of Corsica and Sardinia and the City of Eternal Light - Rome. While the itinerary alone is enough to entice many golfers, the mode of transport is truly a traveler's dream. The amenities and services are detailed later in this Advisor under the New Grand Touring 2004 section.

We think that the SeaDream II is the perfect addition to our existing programmes and unique transportation modes utilized in our Grand Touring Portfolio. And of course we are excited to welcome back an Open Championship tour aboard the Royal Scotsman Train and two Links by Sea itineraries - one around Ireland and one to the Open Championship in 2004.

We look forward to assisting all of you in the near future in visiting
favourite venues or discovering new international golf destinations.

Good Golfing
