We here at
PerryGolf trust you are enjoying the golf off-season with your family and loved
ones. It has been a long and difficult year for many of us, and with this New
Year our thoughts are turning to spring and time spent on the golf course with
good friends.
Many of our staff
were over the Pond last Fall and report that our partners in the British Isles
are looking forward to the Americans returning, and right now, with an abundance
of tee times, especially in the spring, there has perhaps not been a better time
in the past few years to plan a golf experience to the OHome of Golf.'
Our
suppliers were wonderful in accommodating many of you that chose to postpone your
trips and are also eagerly awaiting those of you who are again ready to travel.
The exclusive Grand Touring Portfolio of programs onboard the M/S Clipper Adventurer
to Scotland, Ireland and the British Open, and aboard The Royal Scotsman to the
British Open offer participants an opportunity to experience traveling the country
from the luxurious comfort and safety of a traveling hotel.
Last
Fall, we were proud to have participated in the Freedom of Travel Auction, presented
by the Association of American Travel Writers, in which travel entities donated
trips and services whose sale proceeds directly benefited victims of the September
11th tragedy.
We enjoyed seeing
many of our golf industry clients that attended the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando
this January. We again had a VIP Golf Coach over from the British Isles, and there
were representatives from many of our partners including Bushmills Inn; The Carnegie
Club at Skibo Castle; Carnoustie Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa; Dromoland Castle; The
Gleneagles Hotel; Hayfield Manor Hotel; The Killarney Park Hotel; The Marcliffe
at Pitfodels; Marine Hotel, Troon; Old Head Golf Links; Portmarnock Hotel and
Golf Links; Royal Golf Hotel, Dornoch; St. Andrews Golf Hotel; St. Andrews Rusacks
Hotel; The Westin Turnberry Resort and Woodstock Hotel, at the Show, to assist
the golf professionals plan itineraries for their members in 2002.
The
international spotlight returns again to Scotland with the 131st British Open
returning to Muirfield for the 15th time. The outstanding historic championship
golf in the East Lothian area around Muirfield is discussed in this Advisor's
destination feature and there is also an in-depth look at Muirfield and the Honourable
Company of Edinburgh Golfers in the Classic Courses section. The Advisor also
has highlighted some excellent selections to add to your golf library. We hope
you enjoy.
