South Africa is a golf lovers’ paradise. Not only are the
country’s world-class courses pristine and uncrowded, but
they are set against the most spectacular landscapes: sun-dappled
vineyards, lush forests, cobalt blue lakes and majestic mountains..
Our play begins at Pearl Valley, a Jack Nicklaus
signature course in the famous Franschhoek Wine region. Other
championship layouts on the route include East London
Golf Club, skillfully fashioned out of dense coastal
bush, hills and dunes, just a few meters away from the Indian
Ocean; Durban Country Club, consistently ranked
as
one of the best courses in South Africa as evidenced by its history
as 14 time host of the South Africa Open; Humewood
in Port Elizabeth is a true links layout praised by local
hero Bobby Locke as the country’s best; St Francis
Links is another Nicklaus signature layout opened in
2006; and finally we play Ernie Els’ high drama layout at
Oubaai, set overlooking Herolds Bay.
Touring begins in South Africa’s oldest city, Cape
Town, and continues amid Stellenbosch’s
stunning wine country and onto the striking cliffs of Cape Peninsula.
In such natural Edens as Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park,
we will marvel at the unimaginably lush and varied flora and fauna.
At Hluhluwe-Umfolozi, one of the country’s
most outstanding game reserves, we will look for black and white
rhinos, lion, cheetah, leopard, giraffe, hippo and other exotic
wildlife In this wildly beautiful part of the world, nature is
everywhere to behold, from the bright wild flowers of the ever-changing
coastline to the herds of buffalo making their way across a plain.
Don’t miss the chance to discover South Africa aboard the
Corinthian II,
and explore unforgettable wildlife, shores and golf courses.
