PerryGolf is delighted to add the magnificent hotel
barge Renaissance to our golf cruising portfolio.
This 130 ft long vessel accommodates just eight guests in some
of the finest and most spacious hotel barge accommodations available,
and cruises along the canals of the beautiful and historic Burgundy
region of France, slightly southwest of Paris. The area is renowned
for its vineyards, Gothic churches, Renaissance châteaux
and picturesque villages, with gastronomic delights and the art
of living having reigned supreme here since Roman times.
Renaissance has five members of crew who attend to the eight passengers throughout the
cruise including a captain, tour guide, master chef and two housekeepers. The
air conditioned interior includes a beautifully appointed lounge with comfortable
seating, a cosy bar stocked with your favourites and bookshelves which contain
a Bose CD system, current books, and up-to-date periodicals. She has four
large suites which can be configured as twins or doubles. Each has a 60ft
sq private bathroom and a TV/DVD system. The sundeck has seating and a spa
pool, with bicycles also available for guests’ use.
Our special itinerary combines sightseeing plus golf on four
courses, including the renowned and highly regarded Fontainebleau
Golf Club on the outskirts of Paris.

Day
1 (Saturday):
Depart the US.
Day
2 (Sunday):
Paris - Montargis
Guests are met at a selected hotel in Paris at 1.30 pm and
transferred to the spacious Renaissance where a champagne
welcome awaits. We enjoy an evening cruise through
Little Venice, past flower-bedecked bridges and medieval
watercourses joining France’s oldest canal, the Briare.
Dinner onboard.
Overnight: Renaissance at Montargis.
Day
3 (Monday):
Montargis - Montbouy
This morning we drive to Chateau
Cely Golf Club. Situated
very close to our first overnight mooring, this recently
refurbished course is quickly gaining a reputation as one
of the foremost courses in the Parisian region. Set in
the grounds of a former private Chateau, the course has
received great reviews from former Renaissance guests.
Our mooring tonight is in the town of Montbouy. Afternoon
cruise through the Loiret countryside with towpath cycling.

4 (Tuesday):
Montbouy - Rogny les Sept Ecluses
After breakfast we drive to Fontainebleau
Golf Club, regarded
by many as the best golf course within the southern Paris
region. This all weather course is deep in the private
forest of the Fontainebleau estate. Return to the
barge this afternoon for a gentle cruise to historic Rogny
and its 350 year old floodlit 7 lock-flight. Dinner
onboard.

5 (Wednesday):
Rogny les Sept Ecluses – La Gazonne
After a leisurely breakfast of fresh croissants, baguettes
and assorted pastries we visit Saint Fargeau. The Castle
of Saint Fargeau is 1000 years old. In 980, Héribert,
Auxerre's bishop and biological son of King Hugues Capet,
built a fortified hunting meeting place. From the 5th to
15th century, the castle was owned by some famous families.
In the afternoon we climb a succession of locks to reach
the summit of the canal and arrive in La Gazonne. Dinner
ashore at Auberge des Templiers in Les Bezards
Overnight: Renaissance at La Gazonne.
Day
6 (Thursday):
La Gazonne - Briare
Morning cruise to Briare and Gustave Eiffel’s magical
aqueduct across the River Loire with walking and biking
for those that wish to do so. We preview Friday’s
crossing of this amazing 10,000 ton, 662 metre Pont Canal
which was completed in September 1896. After lunch we drive
for one hour for golf at Roncemay
Golf & Country Club.
This course, designed by Jean Garaialde in 1991 has hosted
a number of France’s premier events, and is overlooked
by the Chateau in whose grounds the course has been developed.

Day
7 (Friday):
Briare – Chatillon sur Loire
Morning wander around fruit and vegetable, seafood, cheese
and French fashion stalls in the market in Briare. After
lunch, we drive to Golf du Sanserrois. Located on the banks
of the river Loire with Sancerre hills in the background,
this course, in the midst of century-old trees, ornamented
by natural water hazards is considered as one of the most
attractive golf courses in the centre of France. The quality
of the greens, the friendly atmosphere and the famous Sancerre
vineyard around it: everything invites you to discover
this splendid course. Evening cruise across the River Loire
on Eiffel’s aqueduct and Captain’s Farewell
Dinner onboard.
Overnight: Renaissance at Chatillon sur Loire.

8 (Saturday):
Chatillon sur Loire - Paris
After breakfast we return you to the meeting point in
Paris.
