You’ll play two of Dr. Alister MacKenzie’s most important four layouts; Royal Melbourne which is GOLF Magazine’s world 13 and New South Wales ranked 34. You’ll play the club that put Tom Doak on the map, in Tasmanian, at Barnbougle Dunes ranked 41.  Next door at Barnbougle Lost Farm we’ve got world 82 by Coore & Crenshaw.  Royal Melbourne neighbor Yarra Yarra is a founding member of the famed Sandbelt clubs whose design was shaped heavily by Dr. MacKenzie. We’ll see Doak’s work again at St Andrews Beach found in the heart of the Mornington Peninsula’s Cups Country.

Our tour begins officially with the Welcome Cocktail Party and Dinner on the day of arrival.  Sightseeing on Day 2 includes the famous Sydney Harbor Cruise plus a guided tour of the spectacular Opera House.  Both are included in the price of the tour, along with four (4) additional sightseeing excursions.   Welcome and Farewell dinners plus six (6) additional “choice of menu” evening meals are included as well.

After clearing immigration and customs you will be met by your hosts and transferred to your hotel.

Sydney is Australia's largest city at 4 million. The country's birth place, it is the most beautifully situated city in Australia with a magnificent harbour, that is one of nature’s extraordinary creations, dominating its landscape with its small bays and inlets crowned by the billowing sails of the Opera House. Sydney is a city in a hurry but also contains the country's oldest buildings and earliest colonial history that contrasts with skyscrapers and a modern cosmopolitan life-style. It truly is a sight to behold.

Tonight enjoy Welcome Cocktails & Dinner.

6 March, Thursday: SYDNEY

Today you will get to know Sydney.

This morning you depart on a tour of Sydney and its famous beaches. On completion you will be dropped off at King St. Wharf in Darling Harbour to commence a magical and spectacular Sydney Harbour cruise. Your vessel has exceptional nautical design, superior service and you will enjoy a sensational seafood buffet lunch. Sydney Harbour is commonly referred to as the most beautiful natural harbour in the world. It has many bays, inlets and secondary harbours and has not been built out like many of the world's other great harbours. Although there are exclusive homes dotted around the water's edge, there are large tracts of parklands, reserves and gardens that balance the harbour environmentally.

At completion of your cruise you take a short walk to the Sydney Opera House to join a tour through this architectural master piece. The Opera House opened in 1973 and perhaps would more aptly be named the Sydney Performing Arts Centre as most evenings its theatres offer a combination of world class music, dance, and drama and opera performances. Your 45 minute tour offers the opportunity to experience the Sydney Opera House in its daily operation and learn about its fascinating history and architecture.

This evening dinner is included at a fine local restaurant.

Transfer this morning to Sydney Airport for your flight to the Tasmanian city of Launceston.

Transfer from Launceston Airport to Lost Farm Lodge with a tour of the city enroute. Launceston is nestled on an ancient ravine in a valley beside the Tamar River surrounded by mountains. We’ll see City Park, established in 1820 by the Horticultural Society for its many gardens along with a conservatory plus a rowdy group of macaques. Time for tasting at the Josef Chromy winery is well spent as is a tour of the James Boag Brewery which was founded in 1883. Nearly 45% of Tasmania lies in protected reserves, national parks and World Heritage Sites so it will come as no surprise to find Launceston’s own piece of wilderness situated right on the edge of the city at The Cataract Gorge.
