A PerryGolf Escorted Tour
China Golf & Culture 2008 ~
Beijing, Kunming, Lijiang, Shenzhen
(Hong Kong)
12 Nights / 7 Rounds
10-23 October 2008
The utterly amazing transformation
of this remarkable country includes the recent development of
equally remarkable golf. The game is a high profile symbol of
the “new” China where an all star list of leading
architects and tour professionals have been given astounding resources
to make a statement. That mission has been accomplished at each
of the seven courses included in this exclusive 12 night / 7 round
golf and sightseeing escorted tour which will introduce four very
different experiences in Beijing, Kunming, Lijiang, and Shenzhen/Hong
Kong.
Away from the golf course, China is of course one of the most
captivating cultural, historical and scenically beautiful destinations
in the world. We will begin in Beijing which, in the wake of the
2008 Summer Olympics, has benefitted nicely from the most ambitious
urban facelift in history. Everything old has been restored, and
everything new is mind boggling from local transportation systems
and luxury hotels, to dining and shopping, to a collection of
the most architecturally distinctive new structures found in any
city on earth. The majority of our scheduled time will be devoted
to cultural pursuits including Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden
City, the Temple of Heaven and naturally the Great Wall, but the
incredible juxtaposition of ancient and modern is astounding.
After Beijing, and a three hour flight, we arrive in the Yunnan
Province and its capital city of Kunming. This is China’s
southwestern most province bordering Tibet and Vietnam and one
of the most naturally beautiful as you might expect with elevation
ranging from over 22,000 feet to 250. The Spring City Golf and
Lake Resort will host our three night stay including play on a
pair of the country’s finest layouts by Jack Nicklaus and
Robert Trent Jones Jr. A tour of the wonderous Stone Forest, tickets
to the Yunnan Minority Show and Dinner plus an afternoon indulgence
at the Brilliant Spa will round out a very full and leisurely
experience.
Next, an hour northwest by air in an Ansel Adams type setting
amidst the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, is the pearl of Yunnan –
the city of Lijiang. Almost completely rebuilt after a devastating
earthquake in 1996, Lijiang Old Town is a traveler’s paradise
with three small rivers coursing through the town’s cobble-stoned
streets that are lined with trees, wonderful restaurants, cafes
and shops. The city has been designated by UNESCO as one of the
world’s major cultural heritages. It is also distinguished
as home to one of the most memorable resort hotels in our entire
portfolio – Banyan Tree Lijiang. The combination of luxury,
service and setting is truly unique, as is Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
Golf Club. At 10,170 feet with the Himalayas for a backdrop, you
will not soon forget playing the world’s longest golf course
at 8,548 yards!
Yet another world beater awaits in Shenzhen near Hong Kong. Mission
Hills, your home for the next three nights, is the world’s
largest golf club with twelve courses. And six driving ranges.
Two clubhouses, one covering 300,000 square fee! Eight restaurants.
And, Asia’s most highly regarded spa. We’ll play night
golf, very popular in China and big fun, along with the Olazabal
Course and spend a day in Hong Kong.
Carts and caddies are included in the price of this tour as are
all breakfasts plus four (4) dinners with drinks, plus all food
and beverage at the golf courses during and immediately after
golf. Accommodation includes a combination of luxury and first
class hotels.
