Video #8 / Cruden Bay Golf Club, Aberdeenshire, Scotland

Tom Doak will point out that proper course routing follows the same path a person would take on a walk through the original property.   In 1926, Tim Simpson agreed.  His redesign of Old Tom Morris’ work at Cruden Bay produced a circuit that meanders all over the place.  Golf Magazine’s world #83 was laid out the way the dunes dictated which is how you get back to back par 3s, one of them a 229 yard blind par 3, and two drivable par 4s.  A visit to Cruden Bay is easily combined with Royal Aberdeen along with new Trump International. Your green fee includes a complimentary second round if played the same day.

This is one of sixteen Scotland golf course videos we’re posting on a weekly basis to start the year. Each one provides a great sense of the respective experience which we hope will help you confirm your selections from the many available options.
